I have a situation that I hope someone can relate to. I am fairly mechanically enclined and have access to many tools, so here is my situation. At first she would run rough and idle would surge so I ruled out spark plugs, wires, dist cap&rotor, still rough... Found vaccum leaks, ruled out all vaccum hoses, o-rings, doughnuts, boots, & elbows, still rough... Found fuel pressure regulator had bad diaphram, got that, fuel distribution block and new brass injectors. Ok idle stopped surging just runs rough and when shut off for a period of time is hard to start. Seems like its starving for fuel. EGR valve is ok and when I had the Intake manifold off there was alot of carbon build up in the exhaust jackets so I cleaned them out. Twisting the mixture dosent really seem to help but if I lightly touch that plunger plate it smooths out.....

if your car wont start after a period of time most likely fuel dumper is bad(localized close to fuel filter round shape design .good luck joiv
