No central locking W126

Can anyone assist with this?
I am told there is a vacuum pump somewhere, can someone say where?
What does it look like?
Is there a simple way to test it?

The car is getting old, a bit like me

Any help appreciated.................mw

As a follow-on question: is it normal that the other door locks open/close about 1 second after the lead door? Or does that delay indicate that there's a problem developing somewhere?
