1983 300SD Heater Problem
Greetings all, I am new to the forum and was hoping some of you more experienced folks can help me out with my recent issue on my first Mercedes Diesel. I am very happy to have found one in good condition, engine is excellent, ,and recently did an EGR delete on the motor. My problem is when I select the heat control, and depress any of the buttons I can "hear" something sort of a "vacuum leak" or air sound, but no fan motor kicks on and no heat to the vents. I took everything apart, checked the fan and motor and they work when jumped from a battery, but won't kick on through the controls? any ideas I would be ever so grateful. Many thanks.

Can anybody help me out here?
can this be a prolem with the monovalve?? I hear something like air pushing or passing behind the center console, although nothing comes out of the vents. and I know for a fact that the blower motor is working.
