Shift Solenoid fix

Well guys when I first got the '81 300SD it was shifting real hard in all gears except the last. The worst thing of all was the extremely hard kick down making it feel like someone has bumped me in the rear. Today I was able to have the Shift Solenoid replaced (God is good!). First gear is still pretty firm but all others are smooth! The reverse was occassionaly very abrupt and i'll monitor to see if it remains smooth. The kickdown is not even felt! If any of you have the rough/hard shift problem and abrupt kickdown you might try this and see if it works for you. The Solenoid was only $41.00 so if it doesn't fix it you're not really out of a lot. jmag

My 2009 C300 is kicking down abruptly and harshly during acceleration, coasting, or braking. Could this be a possible fix? Most people are edging towards a software flash or update, but I think my dealer should have been pretty good on applying any open service campaigns. It's getting to the point where I'm worried something is going to break the next time it happens.
