300 SD
I hope someone who knows, sends a reply. Mine is doing the same thing. I've been going through the passenger door and locking the drivers door so the central locking will work, then getting back in the same way. Yeah, it's a bit of a pain.
I do get the feeling the problem is not in the lock cylinder, but somewhere in the locking mechanism.

It changes all the time
To remove the outside lock and handle all you need to do is remove the bolt or bolts at the trailing edge of the door. Then slide they handle forward and out. The only problem that you will encounter is the antitheft feature that is built into the door locks.I believe that your car is late enough to have this feature. To prevent someone just removing a handle from an unlocked car and taking it to a locksmith for a key, Mercedes design the lock in such a way that a key must be inserted and turned to allow the lock to be removed. You may have to remove the door panel and destroy the little plastic piece that the latch hooks into. If you do this you will no longer have the antitheft feature, however, I don't think anyone is stealing 300 SDs anymore.
