Should I?

Hi mbworld, im a newb with a couple of questions. I have the opportunity to purchase a 84 0r 85 380se. The odometer reads 234+ price is +- 1200. My question is the vin #(wdb12603212002778) appears grey market or euro. Can someone please help me decode it?
Next in the grand scheme of things is the cost of maintaining a w126 about the same as a e28 5 spd 535? I'm not wooried too much as I was a mechanic by trade, actually i saw the w126 at my shop months ago for an oil change where i instantly fell in love with it. The customer was left with car after her husband died and it just sits other than every 6 months when she has the oil changed, now i remember the shifting was slow and hard and i am wondering could that be a result of sitting. She says nothing was wrong with the car when her husband died he drove it everyday. Anyway thanks for your help and a great forum, i would not have even considered it if not for your helpful insight and gorgeous cars.
