Ruined block, looking for 560SEL short block in CT area

So I got my heads back from the machine shop, bought gaskets from dealer $125/pair, bought genuine MB head bolts - including 5 timing cover bolts - $400, and spent countless hours making sure the cylinders were clean and mating surface was ready. This is in addition to a stupid amount of money/time already having been spent on this car (close to $20K & literally hundreds of hours over the last 2.5 years) As I was threading bolts in & cleaning threads some of the helicoil from a previous owner came out so I decided to helicoil the threads that looked bad. I bought two helicoil kits and found out (too late) that one required a 11/32 drill bit and the other a 13/32 drill bit. I guess I mixed up the coils and used the wrong coil/bit combination so then the bolts wouldn't thread in - since you can't take the coils out I tapped the coiled hole which worked but then the tap broke off and I won't go into the 10+ hours of miserable back breaking labor which ensued.

Short story long I'm looking for a used short block with under 150k mi since I gouged the cylinder wall among other infuriating mistakes which I'm mostly blaming on sh*tty drill bits/taps/heli coil manufacturers. I was quoted $1000 for a complete 150k mi motor with warranty so I'm hoping to pay around $400 and can remove myself. I'm in CT and would be willing to drive a few hours to pick up - can also pull from car myself. Any help or advice on my situation (how to get car back on road involving minimal labor/$$) would be greatly appreciated as well. Anyone attempting a head gasket repair on a 126 for the first time; feel free to contact me for what not to do....thank you
