300se groaning sound from self leveling value?

My Father has a 300se w126 and it has an intermittent "groaning" type of noise only when turning whilst climbing (small hill etc). When brakes are applied the sound stops. Has anybody experienced this with the SLS and or can point me in the right direction please.

Sounds like it is low on power steering fluid. Check the resevoir, and replenish with MB power steering fluid.
