Is this the correct fuel pump relay?

This is the new relay that came with my 1991 300se. It was purchased at Staithes garage in Dunstons so from a reputable Merc mechanic.

The guy who sold me the car, as far as I am aware, never got the car to run with the relay fitted.

It does however run with the fuel pump jumpered instead.

Numbers on the bottom are as follows

31 15 87 87H 50 TD 30 87k87VTF

Any reason a new FP relay wouldn't work and but jumping the FP relay with a wire would?

IF that is an aftermarket relay it may not be seating fully in the board and thus not making proper electrical contact. I had the same problem with a new aftermarket relay and after shaving off some of the excess flashing around the bottom it seated properly and all is well!
