Advice on dumping or repairing 85 500SEC

I have a low mileage (56,000) 1985 500 SEC that has performed well and it still a joy to drive, but in recent years it has required thousands in repairs, especially air conditioning (totally rebuilt for modern-day coolant). Right now I'm facing over $5,000 in repairs, including pressure valves for the AC, front and rear shocks, ball joints, perhaps more (one problem is still being diagnosed). I use the car strictly for out of town trips about once every 4 to 6 weeks. So given this estimate, I'm wondering whether I should spend the money or whether it's time for the car and I to part company. Aesthetically it's in good shape on the outside; the interior has issues (dashboard veneer is falling off, rear deck is crumbling). Any opinions from this community will be appreciated.

560 SEC's are one of the best looking cars ever built! Every time i see one today I envy the driver. If it was my car, I would fix it for sure...
