HELP! 560 SEC Perf Upg.
Hello Everyone! I want to get more performance into my 560 sec! I thought of a custom made cold air intake, custom made headers with exhaust system, and Iridium Spark Plugs. Im thinking of electronic fuel injection and carburetor upgrade...what you guys think? any info on those and how i should do it? what else can u prefer to get more performance? what do you think about the spark plugs?
Thanks
Thanks

I don't recommend even touching that engine. Leave it alone. There isn't much you can do to that engine anyhow. I would leave it mainly stock, if your looking for an exhaust remove resonator and see how that sounds. If you want more you can go with aftermarket or custom exhaust which I think looks tacky on a car like this. There is nothing classier than a nice clean stock W126. The airbox on these cars look very very nice when there polished up. Nothing worse than seeing some aftermarket stuff in there. Its an S-Class not a Civic.

Its your car!
Hi Bud,disregard those comments posted earlier by some tight ***.Its yur car...it has lots of potential..go for it.
I too prefer a stock car but that does not extend to the engine.Mercedes Benz themselves are great modifiers throughout the ages.I will put a stainless steel freeflow on my newly acquired 420 se.I will also lower it a little.I will also put on some disc type earlier AMG wheels in 17 or 18 inch if i can find them.
HAVE FUN AND GO FOR IT,I am sure you know its not a Civic!you paid for it!!

560 SEC AMG Clone
I have installed AMG clone heads (50.1 AMG grind cams, P&P Head, AMG grind valves, solid /lightened lifters), Tri Y's and custom exhaust. It starts on page 18 of my BW thread.

1991 560SEC AMG & 1995 E420 & 2013 BMW 535i DINAN & 1967 Cougar
I have upgraded my '91 SEC with:
A euro-spec 300 hp ECE engine
AMG tri-Y headers and downpipes
Deleted resonator (they are very heavy)
Remus exhaust
Bergwerks 1st gear start
2.65 rear end gear from AMG donor car to replace the stock 2.47
eibach springs and Bilstein HD shocks
16" AMG Penta wheels
With these mods, the car is very fast, very noisy, feels untidy, looks terrifying, and corners very well
