300SEL Automatic gearbox info help please !!!
HI all,
My car is a 1989 300 SEL. Car was originally a Manual gear car.
I want to convert to Auto using correct type of gearbox.
How many different types of auto gearboxes were fitted to 300's at different times of production ?
I see lots of talk about "switchable" gearboxes. Does that mean there were Non switchable boxes also ?
How can I tell the difference between a switchable and non switchable from the outside ? ... I'm guessing I may as well chose a switchable one ?!

81 300sd, 83 300dT, F350, 250 diesel & 16 ft car trailer
they dont usually comes with manual. what country are u in?
if it were in usa almost 100% of them were auto.
u need to find a trans that will fit these engine, not sure your starter is on driver side or pass side. the older style should be on pass side.
