Hi ladies and gents: I'm a longtime and very pleased SEC owner (...two of 'em -- an '89 SEC and a '91 SEC), but have just joined mbworld.org. I'd appreciate anyone's help re the following: both of mine were originally sold new in the U.S.; however, the prior owners had substituted-out the American headlights (rectangular, plastic bezel) with the European-style headlights (German Bosch H4). 1st question: if one was to retrofit these Euro headlights with a High Intensity Discharge (HID) xenon system of headlights, what is the proper / best brand and model (...re reliability, durability, proper fit within the Euro housing, non-flickering, having both high and low beam settings, etc.)? 2nd question: if for any reason such HID retrofitting / conversion is not possible / do-able / recommended -- then what would you experienced folks recommend in terms of a brighter, but still durable (...perhaps with a slight bluish-color tint), with high and low beams, H4-type bulb for use in all my Bosch Euro headlights (...brand, model and wattage of bulb, if you know)?
