It`s snowing here in Vancouver and w126+snow+rear drive=dangerous/annoying. Driving the aunt`s car out of the drive way and nothing but wheel spin!

There's no problem driving a rearwheel drive in snow if you have the right tyres. The w126 is far from the worst rearwheel drive to take for a ride in the snow. A reasonable 47% weight on the rearwheels combined with ASR or ASD so both wheels will drive the car at all times, and som REAL wintertyres. Then there will be no problems in normal snowconditions.

If someone here thinks the Blizzaks make wonders to the car...then try some tyres primarely made for the northern Scandinavian market. The Blizzaks (MZ-01 and WS-50) were the only tires in a big wintertyretest here that got - (minus) as an overall testresult..
One tire got 5+ and that was Nokian Hakkapeliitta 4... 4+ for the Goodyear UG500, Pirelli Winter Carving, Continental Winter Viking 1, Gislaved Nord Frost 3, Uniroyal MS Plus Nordic.

Try one of those and you will probably never complain about rearwheel drive again....

No, she has on these old Michelins. I wonder if Pirelli Scorpions are good?

If you want Pirelli then Pirelli Winter Carving is a good snowtyre.
