1989 560SEL Console and Shifter removal
HELP!!!
I own a 1989 560SEL...I am desperately trying to get to and remove my shifter assembly, to replace the bushings that are shot, and have left me completely disabled. It took me days to find the $1 and $2 parts to replace.
I've gotten the ashtray, coin tray, and wood around the shifter out, and pulled their respective switches, but I can't for the life of me figure out how in to get the rest off.
I can see the hex screws that look like a number 10 (?), that hold the shifter on but, I can't get to them. It's like a huge brain puzzle to take apart...if there is a secret button, switch, or screw...I can't find it. 
ANY HELP would be GREATLY appreciated.
