1989 300 SE shaking in gear
Hello all
I'm looking to buy a 1989 300 SE. Everything about the car is almost perfect. Couple things that concern me were cruising at 80mph it's almost 4K rpm. And when you're at a stop, the car would shake. If I put the transmission in Neutral or Park, no shake.
Talked to the MB dealer mechanic he said it's normal for these cars to do that. I'm not buying one bit of that. What would you guys think?

Gump your right .No shake no mater what gear you select .Revs will die down but no shake . The shake is there because its missing on a plug or two on and off and this will throw the engine out of balance to give the shaking your getting .But if it runs good , and no missing , then take a look at engine mounts. Look at the economy gauge by the speedo , and is it sitting on the far left part on tick over.
