Seat Belt for Rear Seat
I have an 84 500 SEL (W126). I love the car and the fact that I can seemlessly seat all three of my children in the massive rear seat (with plenty of room to spare).
The concern I have with having all three ride in back is that whom ever is in the middle seat has only a lap belt.
Is anyone aware of a way to add a three point seat belt system -- or retro fit the lap belt system with a sholder belt -- for the middle occupant?
Thanks.

The problem would be where would you anchor the shoulder strap? For the two outside positions the shoulder strap is anchored to the C pillar. How old/small is child in the middle? A lap belt may be sufficient for a small child where a shoulder strap my be harmful.
I suppose you could contrive a shoulder belt to run over the back of the seat to anchor somewhere on the frame. If you do this I would recommend an “X’ configuration for complete safety.
