what type of antifreeze to use in 380 sel?

Hey folks,

I saw something in the owners book about a special coolant for this car...something about not affecting the aluminum in the system.

Is this bs to get you to the MBZ dealer? Can I just use regular coolant available at PepBoys?

Please let me know..

Thanks much,

Brett

You should use the MB antifreeze. It is phosphate-free, and I think has some other properties which are good for the engine. You can order it online and save $.

I order from www.thepartsbin.com., but Mercedes Shop's FastLane is good as well.

For amount needed consult your owner's manual. The antifreeze comes in 1 gallon jugs.
