560 SEC Cruise Control Servo Linkage
Hi everyone
I've very recently bought a 1990 560 SEC that's been unloved and not run since 2009.
New battery and some fresh petrol, and she fired up fine, but a long way from being road worthy.
When I start the car, it takes about 10 seconds before it will fire up, and if I try to rev it quite hard, the engine nearly cuts out, sounds like the air is being smothered/ choked. If I'm gentle with the throttle, the engine will rev high. Engine also runs very smoothly at idle.
I appear to be missing the link rod from the Cruise Control servo, question I have is, does the CC servo also act as a choke? I know that sounds an odd question, but the servo activates/ moves when the ignition is turned on. And wondered whether the missing link rod could be causing the slow starting and inability to rev hard.
