My 350SDL will not crank. I suspect the A/C Start Relay (KLIMA). I pulled it, opened it up & with a magnifying hood carefully examined the circuit board for cracks or solder breaks. Finding none. I do smell a “burn odor” around the contact points. Have searched extensively to find a replacement 003 545 26 05 Fuel Pump Relay (KLIMA) & have found only that this relay is NLA. So my 2 ton beauty sits in the driveway, currently a paper weight. Can’t locate a new one, found no used ones in a broad Search & haven’t found any specialists to rebuild it.
What is one to do in this situation? Car was running well & has 245,000 miles on the original relay.
Kindly provide your expertise & experience please. I’m at my wits end with the thought of having to give up on a car I had always wanted.
