Can't set power SEAT position MEMORY ("1" & "2"). Memory Module cause?
In 84 300sd (w126), front LH (driver) power seat has seat position memory (according to the Owner's Manual).
My power seats work in all directions, but I CAN'T SET SEAT POSITION MEMORY (1 or 2).
...So...if everything else related to seat position memory is known good (below), is this failure to remember seat position 1 or 2 probably in the 34-year old Memory Module (126-820-0026) under the LH (driver) seat?
...If yes, can a Memory Module be returned to full function by rebuilding its electronics - resoldering all the solder points and replacing any electrolytic capacitors? (...as can be done in, for example, a Cruise Control Amplifier, or in a Climate push-button Control).
Thank you for your consideration.
Related...as far as I can tell, the following are good:
...the Power Separation Relay (001-542-0219 in Fuse Box E)
...the Seat Control Relay (001-542-0219 in Fuse Box A)
...the three (3) seat position memory-related push buttons (green, 1, and 2) on the Door Switch (003-820-2710 on the LH driver door), and
...the wiring from the door Switch to the Memory Module under the driver seat.
Again, thank you for your consideration.
