KE Jetronic - ASR

KE Jetronic - ASR
My 1990 420SE (Australian spec) fitted with Accelerator Skid Control (ASR - and yes something has been lost in translation) requires extreme (heavy) accelerator effort. It has been into MB specialists, who inform me that this is common to all W126 Series fitted with ASR, but without comparison, this is difficult to verify. However, it has been determind that the ASR itself is not faulty (not in limp mode) and the vehicle overall performance is (subject to muscle power) unimpaired.
The problem has been even more confused by the various (expert) attempts to correct the problem through adjustment of the various KE Jetronic/ASR linkages, in consequence, the original settings have been long lost.
Reading through the the MB workshop instructions is not helpful. Any in depth information that can inform me how to set up the KE Jetronic/ASR linkages or reduce the pedal effort (and yes all the relevant linkages have been checked and lubricated) would be appreciated.
Also,I would appreciate any information that can confirm that extreme accelerator effort is a feature of the ASR fitted W126 Series.
