1988 560 SEC Dash

I think I already know the answer to this, but is the dash on a 1988 560 SEC different from the dash on a 1989 and later 560 SEC? If so, what years are compatible with the 1988 dash? "Johnny" needs a new dash, and since NOS is NLA (as far as I can determine), I need to find a complete, undamaged or cracked black dash to replace mine. And no, I do not want to send it out to be recovered. I have yet to see one of those that looks right.

The changes to the dash occurred between the 88 and 89 model year. The GEN 1 cars are different due to the lower panels under the dash. Gen 2 had the new panels with the coin trays and the Gen1 did not. The panels will not interchange, so the Gen 2 panels wont fit a Gen1 car and vice versa. Could you modify them to fit? Possibly, but they will simply not just fit, also the duct work design is different for the floor defrosters as well. Gen 1 uses plastic parts, while Gen2 uses a metal tube deal. Do yourself a favor and find a dash that is correct for you Generation of car, then its a straight swap. The glove box/airbag will swap out with no problem. The dash cannot be split either, so you cant switch the top and lower half to make it work.

Thank you for the information. I was pretty sure that was the case, but there are a lot smarter guys on here (like you), than me.
