215 tire width in place of 205-65-15 on 1990 126 car?
Hello,
Anyone have any experience of going to a little wider
tire on their 126 car?
The stock tire is 205-65-15 with a diameter of 25.5"
I was thinking of going to a 215-60-15 (dia 25.2") or
a 215-65-15 (dia 26")
Will this effect the ABS system? What if I only
change the rear tires for now? Anyone know how much
of a diameter difference between front and rear that
will set off the ABS light?
Thanks
Dan

i have used 225 x 60 tires on my car since 1996, which is a 87 560sel.
i have had "z" rated tires on it, and did they handle well, but wore out at 15k miles.
i now have a higher mileage tires and they perform well. the abs system doesn't seem to care and works.

I have a set of 225/55's on my SDL with aftermarket rims, the ABS works just fine. I think the W126 gains a lot with wider tires, they seem to handle better not to mention I think wider tires make them look better.
