1982 Mercedes-Benz 300SD
5 cyl. injection pump need oil?
I have driven a diesel since 1975 and never paid attention to the red filler cap on the injection pump. Is that OK?

1985 300SD, 1990 300SE, 2002 E320 Wagon RWD.
Shared with motor oil
Diesel injection pumps get their oil from the engine. Not sure what red cap you are talking about.
