Buying W-126 420 SEL white smoke

Hi all I am currently looking at buying a used 1988 420 SEL. The car is smoking white and does not overheat or have coolant loss. It does have a transmission fluid leak, which could also mean the vacuum modulator is bad and fluid is being sucked into the engine. Has anyone run into this issues before ?

Regardless the person is in a hurry to sell and I can get the car for short money under $800. Is this car worth buying since it looks like many W126 models are in demand? Mileage is around 160K

Hm. I'm looking to buy a 1990 300 SE. The car is literally smoking? It sounds like a severe mechanical failure. $800 is suspiciously low. The W126 I want also has 160K miles, but it is $3,000.
