300se inline 6 whole car vibrates when put into gear ~ engine mounts?
I just purchased an 1990 300se and it is in very good condition, miles 149K.
Engine seems strong, no major leaks, a bit wet underneath but not driping. My question is when I put it in drive, or any other gear for that matter, and whole car will vibrate, this is only at idle. Idle seems to be at 500 rpms, raise the rpms up to 600 - 800 and the vibration stops, start driving, vibration stops.
Could this be the engine mounts? I know this could be several things but I'm hoping that it would be the mounts.
Any ideas?
