Question Electric Issues

1981 300sd

In the last month the fuse for the door locks has blown out three times. What could be a possible reason

shorted rat chewed wires.
Bad door lock actuator
Bad switch.

Anything else in that circuit shorting out or failing and drawing too many amps.

no rat chewed anything, actuator replaced about two years ago. what switch are you referring to ....

door lock switch.

If you do not see anything...

and traced wires on that circuit...
you need to see what amp draw is of actuator when you use it.
Might have some sticky linkage or binding causing overload which means over amp draw which blows fuse....

or youhave the wrong size fuse.

actually found and fixed the issue. the vacuum pump, located in the spare tire well in the trunk, needed to have connector wires resoldering. sometimes they touched and shorted the fuse and other times they just didn't touch and work. freak issue.....
