1984 300SD Wheel Option?

I've got an '84 300SD project. It's currently got the 15" later-version W126 wheels on it, but am wanting to get it back to (what I call) a clean factory, OEM look - and for the early W126, am thinking, would be the 6.5 x 14 bundts.
Question: were the 15" (later model looking) wheels an option in '84? Note: this car is somewhat of a unicorn as it has the optional airbag. The VIN build sheet indicates it came with '640-15 hole light alloy rims'..... the bundt wheels also have 15 holes, so a bit unclear.

Thanks in advance.

Early gen 1 w126 came with 14 inch Bundt wheels option, later gen2 models came with the 15 " wheels . I would keep the 14"bundt If car has a diesel or m110 engine
