Window Tinting

I have a silver 1988 300SE with blue leather interior. I am going to be moving to South Carolina, and I'd like to have tinting put on the windows to reflect/absorb/block out some light to keep the interior a bit cooler.

I'm completely in the dark (ha-ha) about all types of window tinting (silver reflective, black, etc). I'd like to get a general idea of what would look nice on the car and effectively block light, while still being usable (see out the windows at night) and legal.

Also, I want it to be high-quality... if that means getting it professionally done, could anyone make any recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

You might want to check into the tint laws in South Carolina before you make a investment in tint that may cause you problems ( tickets ) down the road.

This is what I have been able to find:

Number of inches a tint brow may extend down the windshield: Not defined
Degree of film authorized for the windshield below the tint brow: Not defined
Degree of film authorized for front side windows: 27%
Degree of fiml authorized for rear side windows: No limit
Degree of film authorized for the back window: 27%

You have obviously never spent much time in the states South of the Manson-Nixon laaaahn. You best not **** off the cops unless you want to go waaaay out yonder to the Courthouse city slicker. Seriously, don't do eet. Go with what they say is legal, I have known State Troopers in the Southern Atlantic states to carry a tint meter. In Virginia, they will confiscate your radar detector at the very least.

might not be enough Omey but his state law doesnt allow him to have 20%,27% is the lowest he can go,And i never heard of 27% so he must go to 30%, and i too live in Tx and have 5% on my Riv and just wutever mercede sput on the s500(35% i think)..i agree that 30% is light but if you cant have but 27% and they dont make it then 30% is what u are stuck with..pissy *** laws anywayz
