Thumbs up Kuhmo MX tires installed... WOW!

Hey guys,

Well i FINALLY got around to installing my 245/40/18 Kuhmo MX's. WOW what a difference they made. Before, with my old tires which were 245/45/18's (dunlap sport SP9000's i believe), the car had a tendancy to understeer and ABS would kick in very soon. With these new Kuhmo MX on the fronts (kuhmo 712's still on backs), the car feels completely different now. The car no longer understeers at all, and the braking is phenominal and the best parts is ABS never even has to kick in anymore and it stops on a time compared to before. The steering responce is also much better due to the lower profile and better sidewalls of the Kuhmo MX, car handles exactly the way i want it, i probably will run Kuhmo MX's from now on. Handling is even better and with Intrax springs the car handles amazingly considering its weight and etc. Tires made a much bigger difference than I anticipated and I definately recommend Kuhmo MX since they are the best bang for the buck tires on the market.

hey guys, today was the first day of rain in a while so i took the car out for a drive and the car felt extremely safe and solid in the rain. handling and braking in the wet are much improved and i'm very happy with the results. I highly recommend.

Hey, thanx for the tip on those Kuhmo's. I've been considering them, but didn't bite. I went with Conti's and I'm tire of them already. I like staying with stock diameter of 27.1" So, I'm changing my tires to 235/55/17 front, and 255/50/17 rear. This way I broaden stance and increase my footprint, Low-profile, but yet I dont sacrifice ride for look only. And, I maintain the stock revolution per mile of 769. At present I'm at 778, that's unnecessary to me, so, I'm changing from 225's to the staggered. Too many flat spots on the Conti's.

They are a good bang for the buck. My son ran them in 235/40/18 on his modified Passat and the only complaint was noise. He put them through a couple of AutoX sessions and said they held up well but were no match for the Falken Azenis. I still have no complaints for my Dunlop SP9000s .. but they only have 3300 miles on them.

Cars and boats!
you should try the MX on a road course... once they heat up they get more and more stickier!!! My buddy runs them in his Z06 that he tracks.

I had heard very mixed reviews of Khumo's. I was very hesitant to get them, until Discount Tire told me they couldn't get the Pirelli's I wanted in the size I wanted them in (I wanted 215/55/16) and suggested I go with some Ecsta's for the price range I was in. I had them put on there and have been driving around with them for about 3 weeks and the handle great and ride pretty well. Haven't seen any signs of "cheap tire" yet. I just went through my last set of Yokohama's EVER with my 95 280, I have had it with them! Went with Michelin Pilot's on that one and it's getting sold soon, so there's goes that investment.

kuhmo used to be considered a no name "cheap" tire, but that is no longer true, The MX is now on par with Potenza SO3's and Michelin pilot sports, kuhmo has come a long way.
