My sun shade isn't going back down it is stuck in the up position? Any suggestions?

 

Is is making a grinding noise when you try to lower it? Mine is doing that, I have to go back there and push the two arms towards the middle and try to lower it again.

I read something about the grease in the gears drying up or something..

 

no grinding noise just stuck in the up position, no noise at all almost like the button isn't working? any other suggestions!
