Key remote
my remote is falling apart, and i have a new one from my old car that is the same style, can i swap keys in the remotes and have it re programed to work on the new car?
its such a rip off at the dealer for a new one as you all know.

Repairing/replacing remote key guts
I have two remotes that are showing they have lived long hard lives. I was able to pick up a newer but still used remote from ebay ( around $20 ). Changing the metal key part was easy. I have been searching for someone that has successfully opened one. I want to swap the guts to avoid the reprogramming cost. My local MB dealer told me that they just order new ones and the service manager said he had no info on taking remotes apart. I had to ask, but I should have expected that response from a MB dealer with all marble floors.
