twist collar under handle, 90 degrees, then pull up.

tbilisi, don`t even try it.

i wanted to update the shifter in my 1992 600SEL to a newer version from 95-99 shifter, with a V12 logo on it....

results: almost broke my old shifter, got it scratched all around. then i was told that 95&up shifters are separate from the shift knob, and the 1992-1994s are monolit.

Exactly...screw it...I am not paying $100 for a wood shifter.
