Ebay is about the best.. I called all over the country looking for a '96 . saw several over many months, but took a while to find one in the right color. Hope your doesn't have the remote sencor in the mirror, they are way expensive. Used on ebay $450
Good luck

Color?
Usually you don't need the plastic outside part of the mirror, just the "innards". Plastic part just comes off easily and pops onto the replacement, so you don't have to worry about color. Three screws and an electrical plug is all it takes to remove from the car.

Yea. I had to replace my right rear view mirror a couple of times on my other W140. It is not the base that needs to be replaced. As RapidG said, it is the innards that needs replacing.

I need a set of side mirrors for a 97 S500.
The wiring is falling apart in mine and one of the brakets is broken.
If anyone has any or know were to get some, please let me know.
The dealer wanted $1500 for a pair installed.
Thanks

The problem with mine is that the mounts that hold the clips which hold the glass in place are broken. You could glue it together.
I think it may be in your interests to just troll ebay as the shipping from New Zealand to the US would make it not worth it.

Thanks for the offer, I didn't realize you were that far a way.
As for removing the there is a metal clip at the top which needs to be removed and then the mirros un snaps from the mount.

http://www.4mercs.co.nz/ check out these guys. they ship all around the world and with the US$ vs NZ$ you can get a great deal. plus our postage in no where as expensive as the US. I get all my parts from them and they are cheap.
