Windows up, down, trunk open

Windows up, down, trunk open
Does anyone know the sequence in pressing the "alarm" control to row the windows up, down or open the trunk? I think I've figured on how to open up the trunk -- press the controller twice when the car is locked. But the rest I'm stuck on... I feel like a true newby to the world of MBZ. Switching over from the Lexus (is that a bad world in this forum?) world to the MBZ world is like going to a different dimension. I'm so glad I did though!

Closing windows
If memory serves me correct, you can only close the windows and not open them up remotely. To do so, you have to be fairly close to the car and pointing the fob at the little "receiver" on the door handle.

Thank you for your reply but I think there is a sequence of how many times you press the button on the fob to perform the desired functions. E.g. if you wish to open the trunk you would press the button once till flash green then immediately press it again (or hold it down).

i too only thought that you could only roll them up not down, I know for fact the trunk is twice to the button, but I haven't read in my book on my S500 anything about being able to use the remote to roll the windows down.

I thought that was the case too, but when I was fiddling around with the buttons and it went up accidentally. From that time, I've not been able to do it. Wow, it took so long for someone to respond on this message board. But thank you for your response.

My wife's little sister somehow lowered all of the windows on my 1993 500 SEL while trying to lock the car; I never figured out how she did it and she couldn't re-create what her actions were. All I know is that she managed to lower all of the windows using only the remote......

On our 97 S500... when the car was locked, you press the button twice to open the trunk.
When unlocked and the windows are down, you need to push the button to lock and hold it down... This should close the windows and sunroof etc.
Then the next time you unlock your car, if you closed the windows with the key before this instance, if you hold the button while unlocking, the windows/sunroof should open back up to the previous position.
This is what I recall... we don't have the car anymore, so I can't test it. But, I think it should work.
