And what I mean by this is that it seems the w140 owners or fans of the beast is dying!!!? I mean where is everyone??Leloz is selling his w140 for a bentley.Omey has a E class and now Banned from MBWORLD plus others who I have not seen lately.Is it because the all new w221 causing w220 is have a lower price nowadays???I however should be updating my w140 VERY soon and will keep the remaining w140 members up to date.I hope some of the older member will comeback and join us to keep the w140 alive and well on MBWORLD!

I am here now...well at least..posting again...since i cut down after the sale of my w140.......

They will be back..trust me...even if they dont post...some are here reading...

I went and purchased a rolls royce silver....then an NSX...and then heavily modified v12 bmw 850i etc...etc...but nothing could fill the void of my previous w140....so i couldnt take it....i went and got a S600 a while back...... and now the void is filled...

I do understand your comment though, lately this sub forum has been slow.

Ghost this is brgrman that just bought that 600 in Mn last week. Just an awesome car. Like you said I also had a 140 before and sold it and allways compared all the cars that I was buying to that 140 chassi and nothing compared so I finally went back to old school S-class (old school is the best school) I used to have a 1994 420 now went for the big V-12 and is so exciting to drive with all that power. I'll post pictures soon my amg mono-blocks came in now waiting for the clear lenses to come.( i'll take before and after pictures for you guys) Thanks for you time. Brgrman

and thanks ghost im happy someones understood me.It does seem to be slowing down.There is only two w220 i would take over the w140 and thats the s55 or s65 all others i will keep my 140,However the New breed of S class the s550 is a different beast then the w220. Dr Z has brought back Mercedes to the top of luxury vessles on the market,much like we were back when the w140 was in its prime.I still think the w140 is much nicer then ANY lexus on the market today,I mean there 06 LS looks like a w140.....crazy

Benzkid...the w140 has such a prescense, i cant explain it. Even though i had a beautiful RR silver spur, it wasnt the same. It was more of a boat. Brgrman probably knows what i am talking about, he drove the bentley RL...

Regarding the lexus ls430, yes its design is similar to w140. If i am looking at things logically, (and you might disagree), the ls430, would be the luxury sedan to buy (price wise, technology wise, and quality/maintenance wise). But since emotion is involved (and in many cases its a good thing), i drive a
w140.

The w220, are ok cars, not for me. I agree, s55 and s65 are the ones to buy , along with the s600. Specially 2003 and up. They are just sick. 0-60 in around 4 secs !!! for a sedan that weighs 5k. WOW... thats faster then most exotic sport cars.

The new ones are nice, maybe due to dr. Z like you said.

But as i told brgrman, look at most of the world leaders say in Europe, Asia, Africa, many presidents, prime ministers etc....still move around in w140's...not the new Mercedes.

I'm going to my wheel shop on sat to mount the new rims on the car. I'll take pictures of it b4 and after and the clear corner will be in early this week coming up. I'll get you(ghost) alot of the interior shots you were asking about it looks like it has 15k not even a crease in the leather. i'll post them on this sight if they let me. Boy what a nice driving car just like I remembered.

Shooting a reply, letting all fellow 140 fanatics that I'm beginning another phase of upgrades to the beautiful 140 chasis I own.

P.S. I was offerred by my company to trade in my 98 S320 for an 2007 E500, but I rejected it. Some call me crazy, but I don't want to give up my S320.

The S600 was my wife's vehicle. It was just time for a change. The one thing that irked me about the S600 was you could not tell the difference between a S320 LWB and a S600 if you had an untrained eye despite the $60K difference between the two vehicles. My S600 will be missed, but there is no other MB product that can replace it!!
