Control lights

How do I replace the lights on the thumb wheel controls located beneath the dashboard centered air vents? These wheels are marked with white strips that illuminate in the dark, however, the lights on my two right wheels have given out.

In addition to those lights, the light for my gear display needs replacing as well. It is hard to tell what gear I am in when it is dark.

Thanks again, you guys have saved me so much money and trouble its unbelievable!

Open the glove box and look at the end of the wood strip where it's visible with the door open. There's a small plastic cover on the end of the wood strip - should pop right off with the help of a small blade screwdriver. Behind that cover is a phillips screw - remove that and the wood strip can be GENTLY pried off the dash. It has 2 or 3 "nipples" that catch on sockets on the dash. Be patient and careful and it will come right off. The bulbs are in sockets in the dash - take one with you to MB.

Shifter illumination bulb requires removal of the shifter surround trim and the lower console wood. Other posts you've listed (about the ash-tray) give you the instructions necessary to make this repair. The bulb itself snaps into the front of the shifter housing.

Thanks it worked great. I thought I was going to split the trim there for a sec but It ended up prying off. My interior looks great in the dark thanks for the valuable input. I wasn't sure if there were screws holding on the trim!
