oil check on 98 s320

hi guys,that might sounds stupid but can you educate me where is transmission oil dipstick.i want to check tranny fluid but cant see anything besides engine oil dipstick

i dont know how to post the picture, but click on the link and it will have a pict of my engine bay. i marked where the oil dipstick is, but theres one problem..only a benz mechanic can tell you how much oil there is
i cant wait for my brother to come home so i can see the s600's dipstick (probably the same).

Lol i lost my keys to the s320, i was searching frantically. i gave up looking for it, and then when i looked at the pict i posted again i noticed my keys in the top left of the picture, in the engine bay. LOL

1998 S500
My understanding is that there is no tranny dip-stick as the transmission is a "fill-for-life" design. A wonderful idea but I would sure like to see for myself. I have the same situation on my '98 S500. I have 120K miles on my car and the transmission seems to be working fine. I'm hoping that there is plenty of life left!

If you haven't changed it....I would get it "flushed"....otherwise you're asking for trouble..IMHO.

You can check the fluid level yourself. However, you will have to buy a dipstick, and you will have to break the red plastic tab on the dipstick tube "lock." A mechanic would sell you a new red tab, but you can simply replace the broken red tab. It'll still lock the tube cover in place.

Yes, the S600 is the same (at least my 1997 model is).
