Have you benn praying lately, The first step would be to locate the leak, a good shop should be able to do that. It could go down hill from there. The early to mid 90s 140 had serious issues with evaporators going bad, the repacement is a major tear out of the dash and console. The typical cost is about $5,000, and have it done at either MB or a very, very good shop. The dealer might be expensive but they probably have done many, my dealer has only a few mechanics do it.
I have heard of sealants but they gook up everything, and could cost more in the lomg run. I hope it is a hose or something

I have this problem and it is the compressor that has a leak. Its hardly that hot for me to bother with it, so I dont mind. I found A garage that reconditions the AC compressor and fits it all back together with a regas for £480 or about $950 US. its usually quite easy to diagnose the fault. There is a dye that is inserted along with the gas. Then I believe they use a UV light to see where the leak is coming from.
