Need help with mirror transmitter

Hi all,
I have been trying to program the rear view mirror transmitters (on a 97 S600) with my garage door opener but I cannot get it to work. Anybody any experience with that? Thanks

I had the same problem - followed steps in the owner's manual but no luck. I did find a post at that time that had the correct details for programming with the rolling code type of door opener (e.g. Genie). I don't have that exact post but I found this on a Corvette forum and it sounds very similar. Worked perfectly once I had the sequence down.

"Had the same problem on my "genie" opener. - If your Garage Door uses the rolling code, you typically have to press a small button on the actual garage motor mounted on the ceiling. It's hiddin behind the platic cover, beside the light bulb - a small black peg. You have something like 45 seconds to get off the latter and run back to homelink and press the homelink button you want to "learn". Worked instantly."

Good Luck!

Lots of info if you search in the S-Class forum for "program garage door opener". There is also a web site for programming the "homelink" transmitter http://www.homelink.com/training/train.taf.

Thanks guys, followed your instructions and worked just fine. I have a different remote (gate) which operates at 400MHz range and I don't think is supported by the car's transmitter.
