1999 S600
1999 S600
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just bough a 1999 S600. It came with the cellphone in the center console and the answer module in the dash.
Is there anyway this can be modified to accept the Mikbox or a mercedes bluetooth.
I installed my own PSE into my 2003 W203 coupe and just upgraded to the MB bluetooth in the V60 cradle.
I have another 2003 PSE and V60 cradle.
Does anyone know what PSE is installed in the 1999 S600?
Thank you

That tells you how to remove it, this guy even installed a bluetooth unit in there, but it's a pretty handy space for keeping little things
Did you means to post a link?

Thanks for the link. I tried searching but must not have used the right wording.
I want to put my Garmin Nuvi 660 that has bluetooth built in. I love the GPS, and my cell phone sounds great on it. Traffic Alerts* Integrated FM wireless transmitter can send Navigation instructions, MP3, Audio books, and Phone calls to your Car stereo. I have a 2 GB sedure digital card that has many albums of music.
I need to hard wire this as EVERY FM station frequency is taken up in the Los Angeles area.
The Nuvi is a little large for the existing opening, but it should fit with some work.

Some people a while ago floated the idea of installing it in the ashtray, thing is you have to look down to use it but I guess you don't look at the GPS the entire time your using it.

I just pulled out the keypad, then a bunch of screws and the dash opening came out.
Trying to figure out how to install the Garmin, which is larger than the opening.

I know the mini plug is for the microphone, so I can plug it inot the mic jack on my Garmin.
But I would like to find out what the other cables are. I would like to get 12 volt power, and send the output to the MB radio. There should also be a mute signal to the radio.
I can count at least 13 wires in each of the other 2 cables.
I completely took apart the dash cell phone/glasses device. I just can't get it to open wide enough to put the Garmin inside. So it looks like plan B, the Garmin dash mount.
Supposedly Kalifornia law prohibits the window mount.

Added a better mount for my Garmin Nuvi 660, used the microphone from the stock cell phone so that when the bluetooth answers my cell phone, the mic is the Mercedes mic. Much better.
Also installed the Becker Traffic Pro, it takes 30 seconds to hook up. Now have indash CD or Navigation. I am going to put an aux input into the back to take the place of the rear CD changer. My iPod will go to the aux imput, or the Garmin also has 2 gigabytes of music storage.

hi guys,
i'm checking out a silver/grey 1997 S320 with about 101k miles...i think it's 2nd owner...he bought it starmarked a long time ago.
the car drives great and it's very clean. minimal minor scratches and one removeable dent. all the doors shut nicely and there's just some vibration at 50 mph - could be wheels out of balance or bad tires up front. rear window regular getting replaced by owner.
i saw vasir owns a 97 S320 on prior post...if any of you could advise on your experiences w/ S320, i'd be very appreciative. the car seems to drive very comfortably and it's the SWB.
