I am looking to buy a 92 S420 that was imported in to the US. What should I beware of on this type of a car? The car needs a new throttle body. And 80,000 km which I am not sure in miles that is. The guy want me to make a offer.
Thanks PKBell

There are web sites that show the convertion to miles - but its around 50K miles, not bad. Never understood how people can drive so few miles in that many years!!!! You offer would have to depend on the cost of the throttle body & if you are A DIY kind of guy. Search for the part , dealers are krazy expensive. Good parts can be found at a good price if you search long enough.Originally Posted by pkbell

MBWorld Fanatic!
The best course of action with the throttle body is to get it rebuild, it's really the wiring that goes wrong in them, also if the ETA is bad I'd expect that the wiring harness is also shot a 3rd party one of those is about $500 US I think. Also 80,000km is about 50,000 miles like the other poster said.

Conversion of km to miles is about 0.6. So 80K * 0.6 = 48K miles. And the conversion of wine in gallons (e.g. a barrel) is times 0.4 to get the number of cases (so 30 gal barrel yields about 12 cases). Might be useful someday!
Thanks on the info. I have learn to turn a wrench when ever possable. I guess their no problem a gray market auto. Thank on the km to miles.
