Help with with trunk

Hey all,

The trunk on my 97 S600 stopped opening last night. When I push the button inside I hear a click but it doesn't pop open. Any ideas? Thanks.

Have you tried opening it with the key on the outside?

if the key works, I would say a gear stud has popped off (just like how our power antennas do if youre familiar)

Ive worked on a 203 with this problem.

I have this problem whenever I wash my car. If I don't open the trunk before the car dries thoroughly, the lid sticks to the seal. I can push the button or use the remote and it does not open, unless I manually lift the lid by the handle. Worth a shot!

If you've had a bike rack or anything on the back, it can also pull the trunk lid latch enough so it jams... I've had to readjust mine several times, and recommend to anyone not to use any bike racks that strap to teh lid!
