Hey, the light around the seat adjustment knobs, was that standard? I don't recall our w140 having those lights, but ours had electric front seats only...

The 1995 is a better car than pre 1992 cars. The older cars had very bad electronics. A friend of mine had a V12 sedan and he nearly had an accident on the highway due to a sudden loss of power. He was also locked inside the car so he called the dealership on his cell phone. The service guy laughed and told him to wind down his window and open the door with the door handle. The guy knew exactly what was wrong over the phone so it was not the first time it happened. My friend got out of the car and sold it.

I think after 1993 or 1994 these electronic malfunctions were fixed.

As I posted earlier these cars are strong cars (thick gauge steel, double-glazed windows, mileage not dictated by tree-hugging freaks, lots of power) with sub-standard electronics. The CEL (check engine light) is another common fault. My family had a number of Mercedes of that vintage with similar faults.

I like your BM registration. If you did not buy the plate with the car you must have been a car owner for many years, a mega-expensive hobby in the Pearl of the East.
