Afater-market stereo
Hi,
Has anybody installed an after-market stereo with the stock amp? I just installed an Eclipse AVN on my 97 S600 and hear a lot of interference through my speakers. Do I need to bypass the amp or change it? Thanks.

2) Make sure you have a solid ground.
3) Are all your components the same ohm?
4) Double check your wiring that you didn't cross wires somewhere.

1) Did you run the power wire on the opposite side of the chassis vs ground? Sometimes you'll get a lot of feedback if the power and ground wires are run side by side.

Any Quality Deck Will Do
After market decks will make no difference in relationship to ohms. I Installed an Alpine Deck in my W140 Sedan with no issues. Understand that the stock amplifier (good amp-7 channel) has built in crossovers that were factory matched for the acoustics of the car.
There are better amps, however 7 channel amps of better quality are very expensive. Stick with stock amplifier. Ohms are not a concern when you have power. 1 Ohm load is too much for most amplifiers, except Class A. Speakers Ohms is not a concern with any deck, since you are using the Main Amplifer for power, not the NEW preamp deck installed.
Any After Market deck is fine.
Cheers
