99 w140 s600 ads problem help please?
Hi guys this morning I tested my car suspected foulty ads , started it up, and select Sport mode. Push down on each corner as if testing the shocks. There should be give, but it should feel pretty stiff. With the car still running, select the Comfort mode. Again, push down on each corner same thing still stiff I have a problem please help? ps car has 49000mls

Can't say I know much about ADS, I'd imagine that the real test is the quality of the ride and how the car performs in the corners.
First thing to look at would be where the ADS fluid goes which I'm pretty sure is the same as the SLS suspension fluid on other W140's looking into the engine bay on the RHS (atleast in my right hand drive so it may be the other on yours) there is a little flap in the black plastic moulding it just lifts off and there should be a little bottle there, if the fluid is low or empty you need to fill it and it suggests a leak.
There may also be an ADS warning light on the dash check the manual to see.

Hi thanks for replying . The oil level is good. Yes the light comes on specially when the car is warm . I have a feeling it my be the accumulators. PS can I afford a guess!!!!

I don't have ADS and have no real expierence of it I'd suggest take it to a mechanic who knows what their doing as it gets pretty costly to guess and replace parts one by one, I'd avoid the dealer as they pretty much just want to change out any and all parts that could be the cause and that could be huge, I've read about some people getting quotes of $20k worth of work needing to be done for example.
