Over the last few weeks I have come out to find the chrome handle sticking out on the trunk. I open and shut the trunk and it sucks closed and pulls in the handle. Then a few days later the same thing happened. Any ideas? I also notice the trunk comes back up just a hair one it sucks shut. Not sure if that is normal or not since I've never paid this much attention to it in the past. All of the doors also suck shut like normal.

i dont understand your concern - the handle comes out everytime you open the trunk.

that also happens to my trunk - it closes and releases it a bit after the pump stops (usually around 5 seconds)

I understand it comes out when you open it. The issue is it comes out all by its self with the trunk closed. I come out of the house or work and it is out, I open and shut the trunk it goes back in. Later I'll be getting in the car and notice its out again. I guess it does not hurt anything, just strange it started.

The close assist pump draws the doors and trunk in slightly more untill it latches, and gets a signal from the microswitch, then it releases. Then it also purges the lines to set the latches for the next event!
Maybe the latch is binding slightly.

I had an instace where a plastic liscense plate frame was putting pressure on the switch just enough to release the handle only.

Check the microswitch adjustment. Its fun to sit and watch the handle just cycling in and out over and over like I did once!
