1993 300SEL/S320
My understanding is that both the S320 and S500 that were sold in the US market were optioned with the Bose system. Alot of W140's have however had the systems changed because of the problems that crop up with teh Bose amp people just replace the whole system rather than fix it.

I own both. The S500 puts the S320 to shame. I want to know the difference?

I know you own both thats why I said they should be the same. Why don't you put the VIN's into this site and see the options lists:

They had the Bose, replacing everything is a major undertaking, The amps and radios can be refurbished by Becker and others.

I had mine replaced, I've even seen people simply wire in a new amp and headunit in place of the stock ones. It's not that hard.
