Car starts shaking when accelerating just past 30 mph. Does it while olny pushing down on the gas. I asked a mechanic what is causing this , and he told me it is the flex disc? Anyone agree? Thanks... Car has 8 new coils and new plugs.

It's easy enough to check. I just changed my front flex disc this past weekend. Just get under the car (ramps are easy) and look at the drive shaft where it connects to the transmission. The flex disc should not have any signs of cracked rubber or pieces missing (like mine was).

The job took me about an hour, but I take my time. The part cost me around $65.

Good luck

I agree with it very probably being the Flex disc. As said above its an fast & easy fix. I was amazed at how bad mine was and that it only made the car shake a little.

Turned out to be a broken bolt through the rear flex plate! No more shaking =]
